retro future is a cosmic creative space built on the belief that everything is an experiment.

When we work with the symbolic language of the universe, we can harness the power of imagination to create a more sustainable future for everyone.

Futurist with an ancient soul

Kate is the Founder and Creative Director of retro future—a project born out of a desire to use astrology as a tool for creative and collective action.

Kate is a certified astrologer from the Nightlight Astrology School, which is led by astrologer and author, Adam Elenbaas. Kate has also studied with Chris Brennan—author of “Hellenistic Astrology: The Study of Fate and Fortune”, and host of “The Astrology Podcast.” And Carol Ferris, a practicing astrologer for over 45 years who integrates Chinese Philosophy with Jungian psychology for a unique blend of Eastern and Western wisdom traditions.

Kate has done continuing astrological education across a range of topics with astrologers: Cassandra Tyndall, Austin Coppock, Alice Sparkly Kat, Demetra George, Gemini Brett, and Spencer Michaud. She has also studied foundational Human Design at the International Human Design School with analysts Ruth Brennan and Carol Zimmerman; topics in Tarot and cartomancy divination with T. Susan Chang; and topics in Western Esotericism with Dr. Justin Sledge.

For over a decade, Kate worked as a strategist and verbal designer at brand and innovation studios, including Wolff Olins, Proto Innovation, and Fuseproject. While there, she collaborated with world-class designers and strategy directors to solve organizational challenges through identity design and the power of storytelling.

With a background in English Literature, Film Studies, and Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh—Kate creates at the nexus of narrative and cultural identity. Blending story frameworks with ritual practices, the metaphysical with the experiential, and ancient wisdom with futurist perspectives.

Kate is based in Bali, Indonesia, where she likes to surf at golden hour and drive her motorbike on the open roads of the Bukit peninsula. She’s a musician, yogi, and radical optimist who believes that language and story have the power to create a more positive and sustainable world.
